Golden boy William Holden is one of the all-time great Hollywood stars, a versatile and effortlessly cool performer who starred in some of Hollywood’s most memorable movies. In his last film before his military service began, Holden starred in "Meet the Stewarts" (Frances Dee. 1942/73 min), based on a short story published in the Ladies’ Home Journal, about a newlywed couple struggling to make it work on a small budget. In "Miss Grant Takes Richmond" (Lucille Ball. 1949/87 min), the magnetic and pre-"I Love Lucy" Lucille Ball stars alongside Holden in a sparkling office comedy about a newly graduated secretary who gets hired by a bookie. In "Father Is a Bachelor" (Coleen Gray. 1950/83 min), an aimless drifter becomes the unexpected surrogate parent to a family of five orphaned children living on the margins. B&w/NR/fullscreen.
