Richard Dix, J. Carrol Naish, Gloria Stuart. Columbia Pictures made a series of B-films that were based on the radio show of the same name and all but one featured Richard Dix as the lead. The tie-in is at the beginning of each film, a shadowy figure appears and he’s whistling. Here Dix plays Earl Conrad, a man so depressed about his wife’s death, that he hires a hit man to kill him.
