Jancsó’s breakout feature "The Round-Up" (János Görbe. 1966/91 min) depicts the aftermath of the 1848 Hungarian Revolution. Also known as "Szegénylegények." In "The Red and the White" (1967/91 min), Hungarian volunteers aid the Red Army during the 1919 Russian Civil War. Also known as "Csillagosok, katonák." Directed by Miklós Jancsó.
