A boy named Apu in Bengal, India, grows into manhood over the course of three lushly filmed movies that delivered India as a player on the international art-house cinema scene. Thought lost forever after a fire burned the master prints of the films, these films have been lovingly restored from other copies found all over the world. The films include Pather Panchali (Song of the Little Road) (1955/119 min.), Aparajito (The Unvanquished) (1956/110 min.) and Apur Sansar (The World of Apu) (1959/105 min.).
