This is Takayama the high mountain. It has been regarded for centuries as a symbol of death. We have another name for it. Suicide Mountain. Hundreds of Japanese, when the scales of the world have tipped against them, have flung themselves into it's cavernous mouth. After a series of tragedies, a depressed Japanese man is driven to suicide. He plans to kill himself by hurling himself from a high mountain peak. Only by placing his faith in God is he able to rediscover the will to live. This powerful and moving religious film, shot entirely in Japan, was produced in 1953 by Dr. Ford Porter and the Berean Gospel Ministry. It is inspired by Dr. Porter's Gospel tract, God's Simple Plan of Salvation, of which over 310 million copies have been printed since it's original publication in 1933.
