Deadpool’s charm and witty humor has turned him into one of the most beloved anti-heroes in superhero history. Created by writer Fabian Nicieza and artist Rob Liefeld, the character first appeared in Marvel’s The New Mutants #98. His primary power is his accelerated healing factor that is depicted at various levels of efficiency by different writers. He is virtually immortal, resistant to toxins, drugs and also psychopathic and telepathic powers.
His self-aware nature allows him to break the fourth wall which isn’t done by many other characters in any Marvel Universe and is used to humorous effect. Deadpool’s backstory is often a subject of speculation, he himself has even joked that his backstory changes depending on the writers preference.
