This double-feature celebrates the genius production of Val Lewton, whose work in the 1940s changed horror cinema forever. In "I Walked with a Zombie" (Frances Dee, James Ellison. 1943/69 min), a Canadian nurse travels to the Caribbean to care for a plantation owner’s sick wife, and experiences voodoo possession in the process. In "The Seventh Victim" (Tom Conway, Jean Brooks. 1943/71 min), a schoolgirl travels to Greenwich Village to look for her wayward twin, but instead finds herself fraternizing with Satan-worshippers. Also includes audio commentary tracks for both films, interview with historian Imogen Sara Smith, audio essays on both films, a 2005 documentary retrospective on Val Lewton featuring Neil Gaiman, Guillermo del Toro and William Friedkin, trailers and essays by critics Chris Fujiwara and Lucy Sante. Includes both films on 4K Ultra HD and Blu-ray formats on 2 Discs. B&w/NR/fullscreen.
