Arthur Lake, Pamela Britton, Stuffy Singer, Ann Barnes. After huge popularity in the comic strips, cartoonist Chic Young found continued success on the big screen for his flapper, Blondie Boopadoop, who marries her boyfriend Dagwood Bumstead. 38 features later, the small screen version came out in 1957. Lake reprised his role as Dagwood and Britton replaced Penny Singleton of the 1930s and 1940s for the TV series which ensured the legacy of the comic strip.
