Dick Miller, Barboura Morris, Antony Carbone. Dick Miller, Barboura Morris, Antony Carbone, Ed Nelson, Julian Burton. One of the most well-known films from director Roger Corman, A Bucket of Blood tells the story of Walter Paisley, a busboy who accidentally becomes a critically-acclaimed "sculptor" when he covers his landlady’s dead cat in plaster to hide the body. Pushed by fame and recognition to produce more brilliant works of art, he sticks with the same method—which means more killing. When people in town start disappearing, and Walter’s sculptures become more ambitious, is it any wonder where the bodies are hiding? Roger Corman and screenwriter Charles B. Griffith came up with the absurd pitch for this film after becoming exasperated with the stuffy world of contemporary art. Shot on an extremely low budget in only five days, this brutal take-down of beatnik culture is as funny as it is gruesome. 1959/b&w/66 min/NR/fullscreen. 889290005274 Basil Rathbone, Nigel Bruce, Lionel Atwill. Holmes and Watson try to find the scientist who invented a highly sophisticated Swiss-made bomb and was kidnapped by Professor Moriarty who intends to get the invention off to the Gestapo during World War II. Based on the novel by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. Directed by Roy William Neill. 1942/b&w/68 min/NR/fullscreen.
