About the filmmaker. Vighnesh Maharaj Peters is a young film director. He was born in South-India, has lived there until his 14th year and then moved with his Dutch father and Indian mother to the Netherlands. After secondary school he studied multimedia techniques at the Media College Amsterdam. His work is clearly influenced by his native country India. The film is extremely powerful, the beautiful costumes are of Indian origin, making it very colorful and imaginative. The Western influence is the obvious scientific approach. Vighnesh has worked eight years on this film. Notable is that he plays the leading role himself. You see the main character in the film changing from very young man to an adult in the eight years that the film was made. This is his second feature film. He made his first film when he was 16, which went in premiere in 2002 in theater DESMET in Amsterdam. The opening was done at the time by the writer/poet Simon Vinkenoog. For this film he received an international film award. In this second movie Vinkenoog plays one of the professors. The 'V' will go into premiere at september 24, 2011 in the most famous Dutch theater Pathé Tuschinski in Amsterdam.
