In this video, Master Takemi Takayasu shows you the four fundamental kata of Uechi-Ryu Karate Do from Okinawa: Sanchin, Kanshiwa, Kanshu, Seichin, as well as Kyu-Yakusoku-Kumite, defense and attack against an aggressor with a knife. For the first time in the History of Uechi-Ryu, the Sanschin Gitae is shown with the first Sanchin Kata, and with the applications of the three other Kata. Sanchin: Sanchin is one of the three kata brought back from China by Master Kambum Uechi, founder of the UTchi-Ryu Karate Do. It's the first one of the first Uechi-Ryu Kata and it is the foundation of our whole school. Sanchin-Gitae: Sanchin-Gitae is what separates Uechi-Ryu from the other Karate-Do schools, because of it's violence. Sanchin Gitae is one of the most representative methods for the strengthening of the body. Kata Seichin: this Kata was created by Master Saburo Uehara. Defense and attack are performed with the same arm, but both arms may be used as well as one knee for defense against two enemies. During the execution of this kata, you will discover two scenes of Hirate Mawashi-uke left, followed by Furihiji-uchi right that will be performed against a right Suto-Uchi. Kyu-Yakusoku-Kumite: This Kata was invented by Master Seisho Yonaha for the Kyu practitioners. This Kata must be performed with vigor and swiftness. Master Takemi Takayasu; 8th degree black belt, is the official representative of Uechi-Ryu in France and in Europe. Languages: French, English, German Spanish Nihon; Extra Features: Trailers.
