A very young, rambunctious Audrey Tautou plays Anne-Sophie. A school teacher infatuation drives her to abandon her week vacation for a walk on the ghetto side of Paris. Here, she discovers the awful truth: her man loves a woman (and not a teenage girl). Devastated, head-over-heels turns to head-into-noose. Luck plays it's usual ironical game of coincidence, for before the neck stretch, Anne-Sophie - hidden atop the platform of a school gymnasium - is witness to two teenage girls, playing a scam on a soccer boy. Inevitably, the three girls befriend and ensue a haphazard relationship, which wobbles from acquaintance, to fighting, and finally to partners in crime.
