This award-winning series helps students to build confidence in their ability to "do math" and develop the knowledge and skills required to become mathematically literate. In this program, perimeter is defined and methods of computing the perimeter are discussed. Triangles are thoroughly investigated. Triangles are defined by angles and by sides. The formula for the area of a triangle is explained. The circle is defined and the various parts of a circle are introduced. The circumference (or perimeter of the circle) is studied along with the circle's area. Common three-dimensional shapes such as the cube, the prism, the cylinder, the pyramid and the cone are examined. Students will learn to compute the perimeter of a figure given the length of it's sides and to classify a three-dimensional shape as a cube, prism, cylinder, pyramid or cone.
