Coronation of Queen Elizabeth II
Coronations have a fairy tale aspect to them, especially when the new queen is so young and beautiful. However, this documentary showcases how difficult the processes is and how much political wrangling and jockeying go into a surprisingly stressful event. Further complicating Elizabeth II’s coronation was the post-war modernization of England and how she had to help transition the monarchy and its long-standing traditions to maintain any relevancy in a quickly changing modern world. 2012/color/50 min/NR/widescreen.
